My Geeky Thankfulness for 2020

I recently wrote an article for Fanbase Press, discussing what part of geekdom I was thankful for this year. Well, I've been obsessing over The Hunger Games the past few months, so check out my post.

This piece really hits home for me. Just trying to find balance in the day-to-day as a parent, husband, and creator, this series has been something I've been leaning on heavily. I hope everyone enjoys the article.

Check it out here. While you're there, don't forget to check out many of the other geeky things that Fanbase Press has to offer.

This year, I am Thankful for Primrose Everdeen and The Hunger Games

If you're looking for other articles giving thanks to geekdom, all of which are great reads, here are a few others to check out!

Feeling Good About A Book Review

A new adventure for the parenting blog will include writing book reviews, with an aim towards children's or middle grade fiction. My first review was of The Silver Arrow by Lev Grossman. It really is a wonderful story.

What makes me feel good about my book review? Well, the author saw the review and gave a response, quoting my article.

How cool is that?! I definitely appreciate the article being noticed by him, so I want to say, "THANK YOU," to Lev Grossman for taking time to do so.

What else did I have to say about The Silver Arrow? Well, head over to the Winey Parent and check it out. Oh, while you're there, don't forget to follow the blog, like and share with all your friends, and let me know if you've had a chance to read this story yet.

As always, thanks for listening, friends.

My Favorite Comic Series Right Now

I would love to know what everyone's favorite comic book story is right now. For me, I had a chance to review Crowded Volume 2 - Glitter Dystopia, and I absolutely love this series. Amazing characters, insanely fun story, and the artwork is fantastic.

Being A Homeschool Teacher - Say What?

My wife and I run the Winey Parent and our latest article talks about our decision to homeschool our little ones. What in the world will it look like with me as a teacher? Don't answer that!

Check out this article and don't forget to follow our blog as we continue to share our adventures as parents. We share our experiences, parenting tips, date night ideas, product reviews, and the occasional cocktail recipe, because why not, right?

Please feel free to share any topics you'd like us to cover or if you want us to try out a product and give you our opinions (as long as it doesn't cost an arm and a leg). Okay, friends, until next time. Thanks for listening.

Join Along The Winey Parent Adventure

Hi, friends. Some of you may know, I haven't blogged often over the past few years on my site. I have been quite busy creating content elsewhere. One of those places is the Winey Parent. It's a parenting blog my wife and I created after I quit my full-time job about a year and a half ago. The whole point of our site, other than trying to make money through advertisements, is to create a resource for other parents.

Maybe our own tales of parenting, including our highs and lows, will somehow give you strength, understanding, or a laugh here or there. Meghan and I provide snapshots into our lives, while also giving date night ideas, product reviews, parenting tips, gift guides, food and drink recipes, and a bunch of silly moments that make us smile. Hopefully, you will find some comfort or use from our content, and if you do, we ask that you share with your friends and family. Let them know that you like the Winey Parent, and that they can even get their own WP gear (like pictures below).

So, for everyone who follows my blog, thank you for continuing to do so, despite my lack of extensive blogging here over the past few years. If you have a chance, please head over to wineyparent.com, follow our blog, check out our content, and then head over to our social media channels to follow us there. I would greatly appreciate the support, especially if any parts of our content is useful in any way.

Thanks again. Talk to everyone soon.

Quince: The Amazing Definitive Bilingual Edition

Fanbase Press is celebrating 10 Years and Counting this year! In the many ways I'm happy to be a part of an amazing organization, it's incredible to get my hands on the new hardcover Quince, which includes the full English and Spanish editions of the series. Not only do I love the colors of pink and purple that work so well together, but I already know what an amazing story is told on the inside, through wonderful storytelling and artwork. I read this story years ago, and then immediately gave the graphic novel to my niece. And, guess what? She loved it too.

If you want to get your hands on this beautiful book, because A) you already love the story and want this deluxe hardcover edition with all of the extras that come along, or B) you're new to Quince and you're looking for an amazing superhero tale that connects with people of all ages. Quince explores a character's realization that she has special powers at her quinceaƱera. Lupe is such a wonderful character that you can relate to, understanding the pains of being a teenager, while also trying to navigate the responsibility associated with having these powers. It is a story to share again and again, because at some point in our lives, we can all relate to those teenage feelings or the desire to want to make a difference in the world.

You can get your hands on a copy of Quince: The Definitive Bilingual Edition by heading over to Fanbase Press right now.
