Second Round Results - One Band, One Song

It's been so fun to see how this tournament is playing out so far.  I hope everyone keeps voting until there's only one song left.

Here are the results for the second round:

One Band, One Song Rock Tournament

This round had several upsets (according to the seeding), which included Elton John and Jimi Hendrix being left behind.  On a side note, does anyone know if there's an easier platform to do this type of tournament bracket?

I know it would be so much easier for people to participate if they only had to click and vote for the songs they wanted to advance.  Does anyone have any suggestions on how to accomplish this?

I'll continue to tally the votes that you send to me and I'll post the results for the third round next Sunday.

  1. I did terrible in the Classic Retro bracket. This round I'm picking Sweet Home Alabama and Brown Eyed Girl. Next pick is a tough one for me, but I'm going with Free Fallin'. The coolest thing about the next matchup, 2 bands who utilize so many different instruments. Viva la Vida connects with me emotionally so I'm going to have to pick that one here. They're both great though. Next bracket, 2 huge bands. Both songs were arguably their most well known and in my opinion, overplayed songs on the radio. Therefore, neither holds the same sort of power they once held in my mind. However, Nirvana has been credited with the downfall of a lot of the hair metal bands of the 80s so therefore I'm picking them to defeat GNR here. Lightning Crashes in the next one. Next one is tough for me, my heart wants to pick Streets of Philadelphia, so I think I actually prefer that song. But Bohemian Rhapsody is undeniably an amazingly written song so I pick Queen. Lastly, Paint it Black made it further than I thought it would here. It's great to know other people think so highly of it. But for me the run ends here, U2 moves on.

    1. Thanks for your votes! It's pretty interesting to see the songs that make it to the next round, especially when I was expecting others to move on.
